Frightworks Haunted Christmas Event 2025
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) - Overall Rating: High-Energy Christmas Chaos & Queue Stars
We got to take the elevator this time, which was a fun switch from the typical balloon squeeze entrance! Frightworks provided a strong holiday overlay, fitting the classic Christmas haunt formula: 30-50% redecoration with 80-100% theme-changed characters, built upon an already strong core attraction (in the 15-20 minute range).
1. Staff & Actor Performance
The actors, both inside and out, were the driving force of the night.
Outside Stars: The queue actors made the night outside. Shoutouts to Harvey, Pickles, and the Snowgirl character, who were all decked out in Christmas garb and were expertly chewing the scenery, setting a high-energy, festive mood.
Inside Efforts: Inside, actors made valiant attempts to deliver quality performances despite pacing issues. Some of the Christmas characters felt to be on a creepiness level above the Halloween counterparts, which was welcomed.
Icon Highlight: Krampus did an amazing job, expertly maintaining the persona of the strong silent type.
2. Haunt Experience & Theming
The re-theming successfully transformed the familiar spaces into a holiday nightmare with some truly memorable rooms, and crucially, they made an effort to tie the Christmas story to their existing lore, which began with a storybook intro and kept a small amount of comic relief here and there when appropriate.
Memorable Scenes (No Spoilers!): The most memorable rooms by far were the Gingerbread room (which had an amazing, immersive scent) and the Mutant Elf Experiment, which made great use of a large Distortions Unlimited prop.
Entrance: The elevator was a welcome and fun change from the balloon squeeze entrance we took last go around.
3. Pacing & Flow
While the attraction is strong, the flow experienced some issues typical of high-traffic nights.
Pulsing: They really did make an effort to pulse the groups, but we still caught up with people and still got caught up with, making us move at mostly the standard pace.
Interaction Quality: As a result of the pacing, some interactions inside were unfortunately a little rushed.
Atmosphere: The lack of a dedicated Midway area definitely hurts the overall atmosphere and pre-haunt experience.
Final Verdict
Frightworks remains a consistently strong haunt, and the Christmas overlay offers a unique, high-energy experience perfect for the holiday season. It’s a great way to revisit the venue with a totally theme-changed cast and some highly memorable new rooms.
The HauntNighters Takeaway
Frightworks Haunted Christmas is defined by its stellar cast, especially the queue actors (Harvey, Pickles, Snowgirl), who set a fantastic, chaotic tone before you even enter. The theming is executed well within the typical holiday haunt formula, and the inclusion of a storybook intro to tie into existing haunt lore and the elevated creepiness of some Christmas characters were appreciated touches.
MUST-SEE MOMENTS: Look out for the incredibly immersive, sweet-smelling Gingerbread Room and the impressive Mutant Elf Experiment featuring a standout Distortions prop. While you might encounter a "conga line" and miss a Midway, the dedicated actors and strong core haunt (15-20 minutes) make this a worthy holiday detour.
