Netherworld Haunted House (2025) – Stone Mountain, GA
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) - Overall Rating: A League of Its Own
We tackled both Monsters Attack! and Oblivion this year, and Netherworld once again proved why it’s a national powerhouse in the haunt industry. From the moment you step inside, it’s an onslaught of sound, motion, and imagination that feels straight out of a movie studio.
1. Attractions & Scares
Monsters Attack!: Nearly 25 minutes of pure chaos featuring hundreds of animatronics and detailed sets. The nods to classic Universal creatures were a fantastic touch for seasoned horror fans.
Oblivion: This house leaned heavily into gore and brutality, masterfully blending sci-fi horror with industrial terror.
The Experience: Both attractions featured seamless transitions and perfect pacing. The scare actors knew exactly how to keep guests on edge without missing a beat, even with high-capacity crowds.
2. Atmosphere & Immersion
The scale of Netherworld is unreal. From the towering façade to the sound design and fog-drenched lighting, everything feels cinematic. Once inside, the environments swallow you whole—whether you’re walking through a crumbling cathedral or a war-torn battlefield full of diabolical creations reminiscent of Frankenstein's Army.
The Midway was packed during our Saturday visit (October 18th, 2025), but the energy was electric with themed photo ops, food stands, and roaming monsters.
3. Costumes & Effects
Every creature, animatronic, and prop feels handcrafted with precision. Costumes and prosthetics were movie-quality, and the sheer number of moving elements was staggering. There’s absolutely no “dead space” in either haunt—everywhere you look, something twitches, growls, or lunges. Netherworld continues to set the standard for visual storytelling.
4. Scare Actors & Energy
The performers are relentless—always in character and reading the crowd perfectly. Even with a large group and the occasional "screamer" guest nearby, the scare actors kept the tension tight and the energy high throughout the entire run.
5. Extra Experience: The Monster Museum
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) We partook in the Monster Museum, which was an extra $5 per person. We actually stumbled into this by accident because we stopped short of the Midway, but it was an absolute delight. It serves as an awesome tribute to horror cinema and the specific history of Netherworld itself. For the price, it's a must-do for any haunt history buff.
6. Logistics & Value
PD Ratio (Price-per-Minute): Tickets were $50 for the night we attended. With approximately 45 minutes of high-intensity haunt time across both main attractions, this gives the event a PD ratio of $1.11 per minute. Given the world-class production value and lack of "filler" space, this is top-tier value for the industry.
Staffing: Despite the massive crowds, Netherworld runs like a well-oiled machine. Parking attendants, ticketing staff, and midway crew were all efficient and friendly.
The HauntNighters Takeaway
Netherworld isn’t just a haunted house—it’s an event. It offers 45+ minutes of high-intensity gold with zero filler. The scale, detail, and execution put it in a category all its own. From Monsters Attack! to Oblivion, every scene is built to overwhelm your senses in the best way possible.
PRO TIP: Arrive as early as possible to soak up the Midway energy before your time slot and consider one of the intricately designed escape games as a warm-up event. Also, do not skip the Monster Museum for $5; the tribute to the house's history and horror legends is the perfect "cool down" after the intensity of the main houses!
