HauntNighters Review:

Mortem Manor

Old Town Kissimmee, FL

3.5 / 5 STARS

Overall Rating: High Production Spikes vs. Low Actor Density

We visited Mortem Manor in Old Town Kissimmee as part of a multi-attraction night. The house is a fascinating mix of high-end, permanent production and traditional haunt charms. While it features some spectacular animatronics and set design, the experience is occasionally hampered by a light cast and a narrative that feels somewhat disjointed.

1. Attractions & Scares (The House)

The walkthrough at Mortem Manor is a permanent attraction that feels like a classic haunted house with some modern high-budget upgrades.

The Experience

The scenes felt a bit random as we moved through. The introductory portion was a bit light on lore, leaving us to piece together the theme.

The "Wow" Moment

There was one really impressive open room scene that served as the centerpiece of the attraction. The actor in this section was phenomenal, truly "chewing the scenery" and maximizing the space. Most of the house's most impressive set pieces and high-end animatronics were packed into this specific room, making it the clear highlight of the run.

Actor Density

While there was a decent amount of animatronics throughout the house to keep things moving, there were only about 3-5 scare actors total. They did a great job running around to cover the whole attraction, but the lack of a full cast was noticeable in the transition scenes.

2. Atmosphere & Immersion

Being located in the heart of Old Town Kissimmee gives Mortem Manor a great "carnival-dark" vibe. The storefront and surrounding area are always buzzing, though once inside, the immersion varies depending on which room you are in. The high-production "centerpiece" room sets a standard that the smaller, more random scenes struggle to maintain.

3. Extra Activities (The Combo Experience)

A&W Restaurant

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4/5) We chose A&W for our meal. It was exactly what you want for a night at Old Town—great, reliable comfort food that hit the spot. It was a great choice for the evening.

Sweet Dreams Cafe

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Our combo package also included a coupon for Sweet Dreams Cafe. It was a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) deal, providing some excellent sweet treats that served as the perfect mid-night pick-me-up.

The Ferris Wheel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) This is an old-fashioned wheel, so don't expect the massive scale of the wheel at Icon Park. However, it’s a charming, nostalgic ride and a great way to get a bird's-eye view of Old Town and the surrounding Kissimmee area.

4. Value & Logistics

The Combo Value

We paid $28 per ticket at Undercover Tourist. When you factor in the cost of a meal, dessert, and a ride, the haunt itself becomes an absolute steal.

The PD Ratio (Price-per-Minute)

At the normal gate price of $19.99 for a 10-minute walk, the ratio sits at $2.00/min. Higher than seasonal haunts, but the permanent nature helps justify the cost.

The HauntNighters Takeaway

Mortem Manor is a solid choice for a night out in Kissimmee, especially if you utilize the combo ticket deals. The centerpiece room is a must-see for fans of high-end haunt production and scenery-chewing performances. While we’d love to see a larger cast to fill the gaps, it remains a reliable and fun permanent fixture in the Florida haunt scene.

Pro Tip

Definitely look for the combo deals on sites like Undercover Tourist. Getting a full dinner, BOGO ice cream, and a scenic ride along with your haunt for under $30 per person turns a quick walkthrough into a full-evening experience!
