HauntNighters Review:
Sir Henry's Haunted Trail 2025
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) - Overall Rating: Exceptional Interactivity and Crown Jewel Hayride
We visited Sir Henry's Haunted Trail on October 11th, 2025. We opted for the VIP deal, allowing us an initial early run-through of each maze before the main crowds and granting us a second fast-pass run. This haunt is defined by its massive set pieces, excellent vendor offerings, and actor dedication.
1. Staff & Actor Performance
The ability of the actors to personalize the experience was a massive highlight and immediately elevated the night.
Interactivity & Memory: The actors demonstrated an impressive effort in remembering us between our two runs, which amplified the experience. Our initial comment about my wife being a vegan in the City of Slaughter resulted in actors enthusiastically screaming, "The vegan is back! It's the vegan!" during our second pass. This high level of sustained, personalized interaction is rare and greatly appreciated.
Photo Ops: Roaming scare actors were consistently available and willing to take photos, especially the haunt's namesake, Sir Henry himself.
2. House Rankings (The Main Attraction)
Sir Henry's offers a diverse lineup of high-production mazes.
1. Haunted Hayride: The undisputed set piece and crown jewel of the event. Featured spectacular execution, including werewolves hopping on and off the wagon, and the visual execution of a young maiden. Seeing Frankenstein come to life was truly memorable. (Note: The siren was unfortunately missing on our night.) 2. City of Slaughter: Moved up our personal ranking due to the exceptional interactivity of the inhabitants. Bill the Butcher gave a stellar, defining performance. 3. Ravensgate Asylum: A very well-done asylum portion featuring great acting and a solid, impactful animatronic finale. 4. Skinwalker's Hex: Good acting, but the main creature transformation—be it wendigo, werewolf, or skinwalker—never fully materialized or felt complete. Additionally, the finale animatronic failed to trigger on both of our walkthroughs. |
3. Pacing, Flow, & VIP Value
Runtime: Our initial time through the haunts was approximately 35–40 minutes, depending on pacing and the flow of the Haunted Hayride.
Pulsing: Pulsing was excellent. We never ran into or got caught up by anyone, ensuring a personalized experience even without the early entry.
VIP Value: With our $57 VIP pass, the initial run time represents a cost of roughly $1.52 per minute. Crucially, if you hit the houses twice as we did, the total runtime extends to approximately 60 minutes for that price, bringing the cost-per-minute ratio down to an excellent $0.95 per minute. The VIP pass delivers substantial added value.
4. Mini-Games & Side Attractions
Mini-Games: We took part in the two mini-games (one mummy-themed, one alien-themed) priced at $5 per person for 3 minutes. This represents a value of $1.67 per minute. We successfully won both games!
Prize Note: The detail in the rooms was extremely high, and while the satisfaction of solving the puzzle was the reward, we feel a photo op in the detailed room would be a fantastic prize addition.
5. Logistics & Concessions
Recommendation (Friday/Saturday): We recommend visiting on Friday or Saturday for the full, intended run time. Our Sunday visit meant the event ran shorter (due to being a "school night"), but we benefited from a significantly lighter crowd.
Merchandise & Food: The merch shop was fantastic, offering plenty of items (shirts, tumblers, goodies) at affordable prices. The food vendors are also top-tier quality, providing plenty of options for a satisfying Haunt Night.
The HauntNighters Takeaway
Sir Henry's delivers an exceptional haunt experience built on large-scale set pieces and actors who actively engage and remember their guests. The Haunted Hayride alone is worth the trip, and the personal interaction elevates the walking mazes. The VIP experience is highly recommended; the ability to double your runtime brings the value down to an excellent $0.95 per minute while guaranteeing superior flow. This is a destination-quality haunt that consistently delivers on atmosphere and quality.
