HauntNighters Review: Arx Mortis "My Bloody Valentine" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ February 7, 2026
We kicked off our night at Arx Mortis with the Slash Pass, mainly for the extras — free snack and drink in the Slash Pass Lounge, BOGO drink, meal deal discounts, free pin, and $5 gift kiosk credit. The Lounge itself was a low-sensory area where actors cycled in and out, keeping the energy high. Favorites included the Dentist, the Ancient Vampire (possibly a Bloodhive Queen), a sneaky clown with a bungie head, and Roddington the Rat, who my wife loved.
We began through a portal shaped like a torn book, setting the stage for the chapters to come. Covington Clinic had patients now running the asylum, all fully committed to chaotic, unsettling energy. Then we entered Clown Academy, where interactions really stood out. Actors didn’t just startle — they stalked, slid, and actively engaged us. As Sir Cecil welcomed us into the academy, my wife was caught off guard by the bungie head clown, who would reappear unpredictably on the Midway, creating a sense of lingering threat.
Deadwater Bayou delivered environmental thrills — fog, distant lightning, and lurking werewolves — while maintaining intensity even with slightly lower actor density. Bloodhive ramped up to max density with classic vampire terror inspired by Buffy and 30 Days of Night, so many rows of teeth. After a brief blackout tunnel, the cursed mines led into a graveyard and a short Hillbilly finale with animorphic creatures, blending backwoods horror with twisted animal hybrids.
Arx Mortis’ cast is one of the best we’ve seen. With over 100 performers, many guest performers, every room had a purpose within the performances. Interactions in Clown Academy highlighted how actors could engage guests directly — stalking, sliding, and timing scares to play off expectations. Actor density and creativity were unmatched, making every corner feel alive. Costumes and makeup were meticulous, fitting the environments perfectly.
Entry was smooth and efficient. Color-coded cards controlled group entry, pulsing visitors without backups. Even in high-density areas, we never felt overcrowded or rushed. The Midway was a party atmosphere with fire pits, a live DJ, and tons of photo ops. Lines moved quickly, making the Slash Pass optional for queue management.
Arx Mortis goes above and beyond to make the guest experience seamless and enjoyable. Slash Pass holders have access to a dedicated lounge, complete with low-sensory seating, actor interactions, and complimentary snacks and drinks. Food options throughout the haunt were plentiful and tasty, from pizza and cookies to bakery treats. Staff across the venue were friendly, attentive, and clearly committed to delivering a premium haunt experience from start to finish.
